Drawing only 350 Milliamps of current, you can leave the lights on at car shows or cruise nights without leaving the vehicle running.

No suprises there about UV radiation from CFL or any other type of fluorescent bulb: They're made using argon gas - which normally glows a dim purple violet color. When a drop of deliciously toxic mercury is added to the tube, its light output soars to a bright blue-white and these higher levels of UV radiation are what make the (usually) white phosphorescent powders coating the tubes glow bright. I can see how in twisted CFL bulbs the phosphorescent coating probably is 'strained' at the sharp bends and junctions, or inconsistently coating the glass - and why some might emit more UV rays than others.
